Hope is in your hands
Schizophrenia is not well understood and patients may live their lives being unfairly judged due to misconceptions. Viewpoints, such as people with schizophrenia are violent, are lazy or have multiple personalities; TV and the media have all contributed to the misconceptions.
When schizophrenia is well treated, patients can live independently and have jobs or go to school. It is a real medical problem that requires a doctor's care.
With education and communication, public misconceptions can be swept away. Better understanding leads to tolerance and that leads to living better with schizophrenia.
